The Practice has been monitoring our appointment system for several
months, and it is apparent that the further ahead appointments are
booked, the greater the number of patients who fail to keep their
appointments. On average each week we are losing 15 appointments. To
reduce pressure placed on staff and give patients the opportunity to see
a GP as soon as possible, we have agreed that from the New Year GP
appointments can only be booked up to 7 days in advance.
Only a few appointments will be available to book in advance. All other
appointments will be available on the day only. By 2004 Government have
set a target that all patients should be able to see a GP (not a GP of
their choice) within 48hours and we are working towards being able to
achieve this agreed target.
Pre-Booked Appointments:-
Monday Appointments for all GPs bookable on the day only
Tuesday Appointments can be booked on Friday/Monday or Tuesday
Wednesday Appointments can be booked on Monday/Tuesday or
Wednesday
Thursday Appointments can be booked on Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday
Friday Appointments can be booked on Wednesday/Thursday or Friday
Where possible you will be booked with the GP of your choice, but this
cannot
be guaranteed.
